WPT Global has partnered up with the Triton Poker Series to create one new tournament and a whole bunch of new promotions.
During this season of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, WPT Global will become the series's latest sponsor. In this role, WPT Global will provide players with exclusive opportunities to qualify for live Triton events.
Triton Poker is known for its series of international super high-roller tournaments with multimillion-dollar top prizes. These events are often accompanied by livestreamed high-stakes cash games.
The President of WPT Global, Alex Scott, expressed how pleased he was to be joining Triton at this stage in the company's development. “We’re incredibly excited to partner with Triton Poker as they enter this new phase of growth," Scott said. "Triton has become synonymous with the best in high-stakes poker."
Scott added that "by aligning [WPT Global] with such a distinguished brand" he hoped to create "extraordinary opportunities" for poker players on the WPT Global platform.

As part of the new deal, each leg of the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series will include a new $25,000 buy-in WPT Global Slam event.
This new event is at the heart of the new deal. So, the expectation is that players will eventually be able to win seats to the WPT Global Slam through various WPT Global and Triton Poker satellites and promotions.
Neither party has confirmed when the first of these Slam events will take place. However, Monte Carlo will play host to a Triton Poker Super High Roller Series in the first two weeks of November. That series would be a natural time and place to launch the first WPT Global Slam.
WPT Global — as part of the World Poker Tour brand — already has strong ties to some of the most recognizable live tournament series, including the high-stakes World Poker Tour and mid-to-low-stakes WPT Prime. With this new deal, WPT Global has also carved out an association in the super high roller space.
Scott said of the new deal that the WPT "looks forward to creating unforgettable experiences at Triton events worldwide."
Andy Wong, the CEO of Triton Poker Series, expressed a similar sentiment, saying, "By giving WPT Global’s users once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to qualify for our flagship event, the Triton Poker Super High Roller Series, we hope this invites a fresh injection of new players into the arena of ultra-high stakes poker and that we see new high-stakes dreams dealt."
